Art Educators Needed for Demos at the Coconino Fair 2008

Hello Art Educators,
I am one of the superintendents for the Coconino County Fair, August 29, 30, 31 and September 1, 2008. As a new person in the fair administration, in the Fine Arts Division, I would like to offer NAU art educators the opportunity to give an art lesson or demo. It can be a demonstration of an art technique you know well such as: airbrushing, oil glazing, stamping, inking, or whatever. Or, it can be a lesson that can be taught to children and adults as they go through the fine arts building viewing the art. It would have to be a 'quick lesson', as children are often shuffled through the building as schools participate in the fair. Adults really get into it too! I am doing one demonstration, and I am hoping to have at least one demo a day from other art educators. My example of a quick lesson for the fair is 'Shadow Boxes", created with recycled cereal boxes and filled with a variety of materials such as: feathers, buttons, pine cones, bottle-caps, and more. In the Fair Book, on page 5 is the entry form for the Fine Arts Department. I enter every year. It is a wonderful opportunity to display your artwork in a venue of acceptance and professionality. Look up 'Fine Arts' in the Fair Book and there are many categories you can enter into - up to five entries a person. Be sure to have your artwork ready for display with screw eyes and wire on back of paintings and drawings, etc. All entry forms are due Friday, August 8, 2008.
