My First Year Teaching...

Hey all art ed. people! I wanted to give a little update to all of you from last year/semester. After some interesting connections, I have sort of by-passed student teaching this semester by taking a full time teaching position in a k-8 arts based charter school down in the valley as an art teacher. I am just finishing up my first week of teaching, and have probably learned more in this past week than I could have ever possibly imagined! I would love to collaborate with those who are going to be… Continue

Hey girlfriend. It has been a while since I have talked to you. Iam glad you sent me a message. I am so extatic that you are able to be in hawaii with Geoff. You are a luckey girl.
I would love to help you out with lesson plans. I am going to give you a call becuase I am having soem trouble finding a place to student teach and I would like to hear about what you are going to be doing next semester.
I am glad tohear that you are having a wonderful summer beacuse I am too. I went home to chicago and took a class at the art institute and abslutely loved it. (ill tell you all about it!) Then after about 5 adn half weeks and I came back to flag and it was kinda hectic. I had a mouse infestatipon in my house- really disgusting, I had to move out, I was living on my friends floor on a blow up matress.... but things always pan out and work themselves out. So I found a place to live for the mean time and everything has been wonderful since. I have been working in the jewelry lab as well and that has been great as well. The weather has been absoltely enjoyable.
Anyway, I will give you a call with in the next few days and we will have a lil private chit chat.
I send you all my love! Have an awesome time!
Live well, Play nice and Always smile!

I am sure there is still a master's degree in art therapy at Naropa (I'm not sure if you are a graduate or undergraduate student).

I majored in Visual Art with a minor in Environmental Studies. I got my B.A. at Naropa in 1997. There really is not any other school like Naropa anywhere. If you ever get a chance to go there for the summer program or for any other reason, I recommend it. Boulder is a great town also, I lived there for many years.

The painting has a red gesso background, and the figure is painted primarily with real gold paint and some gouache. She is a red tara, and is a traditionally painted Tibetan style thangka painting, which I learned to do when I was an undergraduate at Naropa University. I really need to finish this painting! I hope to finish it this spring.

Love the contrast of your face with the bicycle wheel, very artsy.
